Job Description
As a Backend Developer at Afrihealth, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic and databases that power our applications. You will work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration and performance of our software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain server-side applications and databases.
- Implement robust and scalable APIs and services.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Ensure the security and data protection of our applications.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications.
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role.
Proficiency in server-side languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, Node.js, or similar.
Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
